Meet the Team

Our Team

All our therapists have graduated in the Netherlands. Within our team there are several different specializations, such as sports physiotherapy and osteopathy. Our therapists would like to introduce themselves and tell you a little more about their role at the clinic.

Wilco Grift

I am a Dutch physiotherapist, since graduating in Utrecht in 1990, I have worked as a physiotherapist in a prestigious sports physiotherapy clinic in Amsterdam and in a private clinic in Milan. During my career I have worked within high performance sport on national football teams in Libya and South Korea (until the World Cup in Korea/Japan) where I worked as a physiotherapist and rehabilitation coach. I have also worked extensively with professional Dutch footballers.

Since 2004 I have been working in different clinics in Barcelona and in the summer of 2012 I founded MES Fisioterapia.

I specialize in sports physiotherapy and chronic musculoskeletal disorders (back and neck pain). I encourage my patients to actively participate in their recovery to create optimal conditions for a rapid recovery.

I am a sports fan and I like to run.

Sara Pederzolli

Sara Pederzolli

I studied cognitive psychology and biopsychology at the University of Padua, in Italy, where I also obtained a master’s degree in sports psychology. Later, I moved to Holland to study physiotherapy. Throughout my career, I have gained significant experience in sports physiotherapy, specializing in working with footballers and alpine skiers.

I have a great passion for active rehabilitation through exercise and functional training. In recent years, I have gained experience in neurological and cardiovascular rehabilitation while working in a hospital in Italy. Currently, I am focusing on active rehabilitation and functional training for seniors, with the goal of promoting prevention and healthy aging.

Ashley Geerestein

I am Ashley Geerestein and I graduated in 2015 as a physiotherapist from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. During my senior year, I completed my internship here at MES Fisioterapia. I enjoyed my time here so much that I decided to stay in Spain and start working for MES.

During my education, I had the opportunity to make clinical affiliations in several practices that primarily focused on the treatment of high-performance athletes. This gave me the change to develop my skills and gain experience in the field of sports physiotherapy. Therefore, my role within MES is within the treatment and rehabilitation of athletes.

Before studying physiotherapy I acquired my diploma in sports education and sports nutrition, where I graduated specializing in martial arts movement. In addition to physiotherapy treatments, I provide personal training, kick or boxing courses and workshops, and develop personalized nutritional charts. Personally, I love doing sports, especially crossfit and kickboxing. I like to spend time in the gym or go running.
